چکیده
Abstract Assessing groundwater vulnerability to contamination is vital worldwide, particularly in sustainable water resources management. That mainly a concern fractured media urban areas due large diversity of contaminant sources and the complexity recharge pathways. Thus, assessment essential delineate protection zones around springs or wellheads. Furthermore, it considers system’s heterogeneity surrounding hydrogeological conditions, as well provides suitable solutions protect resource mitigate potential hazards. DISCO-URBAN index focused on was applied evaluate intrinsic surroundings Penafiel city (NW Portugal). The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) used determine weight each evaluation factor. multi-criteria indexes were applied: GOD‐S, DRASTIC‐Fm, SI DISCO DISCO-URBAN. Low moderate classes dominate combined approach indexes. However, very high occur DISCO-URBAN, corroborated by water-enriched nitrates. Therefore, method highlights better delineation safeguard zones. In fact, reliable be integrated tool develop local site investigations related

Nowadays, it is vital to pay attention more seriously to the urban environmental risks because of its effects on citizens' lives. One of these problems is groundwater pollution which threatens much valuable water resources. Drinking water in Qom City is provided from different resources, such as watersheds and water wells which are located within the city. Although there is a shortage of water ...
متن کاملA multipurpose method for seismic vulnerability assessment of urban areas
The present work outlines a methodological framework for “ordering” through progressive levels of analyses different evaluation models concerning the seismic vulnerability at urban scale, with respect to the possible final objectives: seismic scenarios, emergency or urban planning, as far as seismic mitigation or economical estimates. The research work has been developed within the URBISIT Proj...
متن کاملSpectral resolution requirements for mapping urban areas
This study evaluated how spectral resolution of high-spatial resolution optical remote sensing data influences detailed mapping of urban land cover. A comprehensive regional spectral library and low altitude data from the Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) were used to characterize the spectral properties of urban land cover. The Bhattacharyya distance was applied as a meas...
